COG Barricade

This COG Barricade Concept was mainly intended to provide gameplay with more cover opportunities, but also allowed them to block off areas within the gameplay space. It was a replacement for scaffolding that level design had used initially to provide spots of raised cover, but it made everything look under construction, instead of being a warzone.
This concept aimed to expand on the use of sandbags and jersey barriers you find throughout Gears. It also helped us to tell the story of civilians evacuating and the COG fighting off emerging Locust.

The barrier is made of a modular set of pieces that could be arranged in many ways to serve gameplay.
